This is part of the Marks on Land series, which includes aerial color photography of Southern California. This particular photograph is of the Camarilla Agricultural Plain. It’s large format digital photography using a helicopter as his platform. “Spending considerable time assembling examples from my “Marks on the Land” series and global earth screen shots for preview, I located a new helicopter pilot for this series of aerial agriculture. He said that he completely understood what I was seeking and he was based from the Camarilla airport. After flying with the doors off and soaring, twisting and turning over a variety of selected areas for a few hours, we landed and the pilot remarked that although he had flown many missions in this region he had never before seen what I had photographed. I thanked him and decided that I had clearly accomplished my goal. This image was envisioned from above the edge of a field during cultivation with a tractor pulling a long plank as it passed over the field. The image is very ethereal as with the next pass the scene was forever changed.” – Tom Lamb
